IoT solutions provider Bright Wolf joins Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster

Research Triangle Region, N.C. – Internet of Things (IoT) software company Bright Wolf LLC has joined the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster (RTCC) as an Entrepreneur member.

Locally founded in 2009 by two N.C. State University engineering graduates, the company’s leadership team brings decades of experience developing connected systems to the work of developing and deploying smart, integrated IoT solutions designed for change and longevity.

“Bright Wolf offers our regional cleantech companies proven enabling technology they can use to develop their smart energy, water and transportation solutions,” said RTCC Managing Director Lee Anne Nance, executive vice president of the Research Triangle Regional Partnership, which created and manages the RTCC. “We’re delighted to have Bright Wolf’s expertise and partnership to help accelerate the pace of innovation and cluster growth.”

The Internet of Things is the next leap forward in technology-enabled automation, leveraging advances in wireless capabilities, sensors, data analytics and other technologies to create smart devices – “things” – of any kind and connect them. Bright Wolf has worked primarily with integrators and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that white label their solutions for commercial and industrial customers.

Bright Wolf Director David Houghton said IoT holds enormous potential for the cleantech industry, connecting devices, machines, systems and people to support energy efficiency, improve operations, reduce costs and manage assets, labor, supply chains, safety and regulation.

“There is a critical mass and unique synergy of cleantech and IoT resources in this region that doesn’t exist in other areas,” said Houghton. “We think the timing is right to capitalize on our region’s local capabilities to serve global needs. There are companies with large global footprints that we can help. We want to be a player in that space.”

RTCC is the initiative of business, government, academic and nonprofit leaders working to accelerate the region’s cleantech economy. It offers Entrepreneur membership for two years to companies nominated by existing RTCC members as a way to introduce and integrate technologies developed by innovative young companies into the region’s cleantech ecosystem.
