On May 12, RTCC partnered with Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy to host Lt. General Ken Eickmann (Ret.), a member of CNA’s Military Advisory Board, a non-partisan organization made up of an elite group of retired three and four star general officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps who study pressing issues of the day to assess their impact on America's national security.
Lt. General Eickmann (Ret.) provided an overview of a report recently released by CNA’s Military Advisory Board titled National Security and Assured Electrical Power, which examines existing vulnerabilities and emerging technologies that will shape the future of the grid.
Following Lt. General Ken Eickmann’s (Ret.) comments a panel of smart grid thought leaders moderated by Ewan Pritchard, the associate director of NC State University’s FREEDM Systems Center, discussed what actions were needed to further modernize and secure the electric grid. Additional panelists included:
Ed White, Chief Executive Officer & Board Chairman, Field2Base
Rick Feathers, Vice President, Associate General Counsel, North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation
Rob Currey, Director, Corporate Business Development, ABB.
