Xylem subsidiary Sensus is hiring “immediately” for the 300-job expansion in Durham that the company announced Tuesday. That’s according to Todd Boyle, vice president of human resources with Xylem.
Susan Sanford, executive director of the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster, says announcements like Xylem's "galvanizes the entire industry in the region."
They not only "validate" the Triangle's competitive edge in cleantech, they give the entire industry a visibility boost.
"Because they're not consumer products, sometimes talent doesn't know about the firms and the job opportunities, so when you have something like Xylem and this expansion ... it's fabulous awareness," she says, noting economic developers can also leverage these kinds of wins as they recruit the next project.
